MMAAA’s strategy includes eschewing the delay-prone process of getting the UFC to acknowledge fighters as employees instead of independent contractors, largely by offering the company a speedy out from antitrust litigation it is facing.

Rebney said in an interview with that the UFC will be compelled to cut a deal so it can exempt itself from an ongoing antitrust claim filed by a separate group of fighters, who are also looking to organize.
